Dystopia Babe

This project was my final at Central Saint Martins in the fall of 2019. The prompt for this project was “Dystopia”. Upon researching different dystopias I realized that most fell into one of two categories: extremely conservative, modest and suppressive or extremely indulgent, violent and out of control. I drew a lot of inspiration from Janet in Rocky Horror Picture Show as a character who actually goes on a journey through both extremes. With this collection I decided to depict the relationship between repression and indulgence, going from one to the other. The look I actually brought to life is smack in the middle.

The final look was sewn and patterned by me, and for the shoot I also did the hair, makeup, model casting and styling.
